My practice: your yoga tracker and streak

Everything you finish on YogaMitra is logged here automatically: guided sessions, breathing rounds, meditation and Yoga Nidra. No account, no server.

Your streak

0 days

Every session, breathing round or meditation you finish on this device is saved here. Nothing is sent to a server.

Last 12 weeks

Recent practice

This free yoga tracker fills itself in. There is nothing to type and no yoga login portal: when you finish a guided session, a breathing exercise, a meditation or a Yoga Nidra on this site, the practice is added to your log with the date and minutes. Above you can see your current streak, a 12-week calendar and your most recent practice. It works like a yoga tracker app, without installing one.

    What the practice tracker logs

    You finish…What is saved
A guided session on Practice, a health page or the sequence builderThe session name and the real time it took
All rounds on the breathing timerThe pattern name, such as Box Breathing, and the time
A sit on the meditation timer"Meditation" and the minutes you chose
A Yoga Nidra practice"Yoga Nidra" and its length (10, 20 or 30 minutes)

It is not a yoga pose tracker: it logs whole sessions, not single poses. Only finished practice counts. If you stop a timer or pause a session and leave, nothing is saved, so your log shows what you really completed. The tracker keeps your last 800 entries; the oldest drop off after that.

How the yoga streak tracker works

Your streak is the number of days in a row with at least one finished practice. Any practice counts, even a two-minute breathing round, which makes it a friendly yoga habit tracker rather than a strict one.

    • If you practised yesterday but not yet today, your streak still stands until today ends, so you have the whole day to keep it going.
    • Miss a full day and the streak starts again from zero. Your history and calendar stay as they are.
    • Days are counted by your device's clock and time zone.

A short practice on a busy day keeps the chain unbroken: Surya Namaskar takes 6 minutes, and box breathing about 2.

    The 12-week calendar

The calendar shows the last 84 days as small squares: each column is a week and each square a day. Empty days stay pale; days with practice turn saffron, and the more minutes you practised, the deeper the colour. On a computer, hover over a square to see the date and total minutes. It is a quick daily yoga tracker for spotting patterns: which weekdays you skip, and whether your practice is getting longer.

Below the calendar, "Recent practice" lists your last 30 entries, newest first, with the date, time and minutes.

Export, import and moving to a new device

    1. Export downloads a small file called yogamitra-practice.json with your full log. Keep it as a backup.
    2. Import loads that file on another phone, computer or browser. It replaces the history on that device with the file's history, so export first if the device already has practice you want to keep.
    3. Clear history deletes the log on this device after you confirm. It cannot be undone unless you have an export.

If you choose a file that is not a YogaMitra export, the tracker says so and changes nothing.

Your data stays in your browser

Your practice log is stored only in this browser's local storage. It is never sent to a server, there is no account, and we cannot see it. That also means:

    • Your phone and your laptop each keep their own log. Use Export and Import to move it.
    • Clearing your browser's site data, or using a private window, removes or hides the log.
    • Anyone who uses the same browser profile can see it.

How to use a yoga log to build a habit

A yoga practice tracker works best with a simple rule: one practice a day, however short. Some ideas:

    • Pair it with a plan. The personal yoga plan tells you what to do each day; the tracker shows whether you did it.
    • Check the calendar weekly, not daily. A good week has more coloured squares than the last one; perfection is not the goal.
    • Use it as a yoga progress tracker. Note how your minutes grow: from 10-minute sessions in week one to 20 or 30 minutes by week six.
    • Keep a journal too, if you like. A paper yoga tracker journal or bullet journal page is a nice place for notes on how you felt; this log handles the dates and minutes.

Tracking helps because you see the benefits of practicing yoga building up, and a visible chain of days is hard to break. Some key benefits of yoga, such as easier movement, better sleep and less stress, come from regular practice, not from one long session. For the full list of benefits of yoga, read benefits of yoga.

Is this the same as a fitness tracker?

No. Wrist devices, from a basic fitness tracker or health tracker for women to a fitness tracker watch for men, count steps and heart rate all day. The benefits of fitness trackers are real for walking and running, but a fitness tracking device or activity trackers for men and women often miss yoga, because holding a pose barely moves the wrist.

This page is a yoga fitness tracker for your practice minutes instead. As an exercise tracker for women and men who practise yoga at home, it fills that gap without a watch, a camera or a full body tracking app for yoga, unlike apps that track yoga poses on video. This yoga tracker works on Android phones, iPhones and computers, and it is not one of the apps for yoga teachers to track students: it follows only you.

If you practise elsewhere, such as a studio class or a video, it won't know, so it is not a yoga class tracker for outside classes; note those days in a notebook. Think of it as a home exercise program tracker for yoga. Track athletes and runners who add yoga on rest days can use it to keep those sessions regular.

Something to track: free guided practice

For beginners, the guided sessions work like a yoga trainer: a 3D figure shows every pose and a voice counts your breath in 28 languages. Together with this log, that is yoga training at home, online and free, with a personal yoga trainer at home that never runs late. The benefits of this kind of yoga training: you can practise any time, in your own language. Start with a 10-minute session today and your first square on the calendar turns saffron.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is the yoga tracker free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no login and no app to install. It fills in automatically as you practise on YogaMitra.

    Why did my streak reset?

A streak counts days in a row with at least one finished practice. If a full day passes without one, it starts again. Your history is not deleted.

Why is a session I did missing from my log?

Only finished practice is saved. If you paused or stopped before the end, or practised in another browser or a private window, it will not appear here.

Can I use the tracker on my phone and computer together?

Each device keeps its own log. Export the file on one device and import it on the other; the import replaces the log on that device.

Can I add practice by hand?

Not at the moment. The tracker only records practice you complete on this site, so the log always matches what you really did.

Is there a printable yoga tracker?

There is no printable sheet, but you can export your log as a file, or take a screenshot of the calendar to keep or share.
